Problem
This particular Epson TM C3500 label printer stopped printing properly suddenly. Upon receiving the report from our customer, we sent our experienced engineer to inspect the issue. Turns out, the problem was caused by a dirty printhead.
How We Fixed The Problem
The labels were not printing out properly and the image was smudged. This is what we did to fix the problem:
- Turned off the printer and unplug it from the power source
- Opened the printer cover to access the printhead
- Moistened a lint-free cloth or a foam swab with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol
- Gently wiped the printhead surface to remove any debris or ink buildup
- Allowed the printhead to dry completely before closing the printer cover
- Plugged in the printer and turn it on
After cleaning the printhead and cleaning the machine, we calibrated it and now it’s working printing the perfect labels.
