What was the problem?
The Epson F2000 is a top-of-the-line DTG printer that is expertly crafted for producing high-quality, full-color prints on a diverse range of cotton-based garments.
Our customer purchased this Epson F2000 T-Shirt printer secondhand and stopped working within a short period of time. When our engineers attended the site for the first time they noticed that all the maintenance kit was at the end of life. The customer brought the kit and on the second visit, the engineer fitted the kit.
Unfortunately, the initial maintenance kit replacement did not resolve the problem with the Epson F2000 T-Shirt printer. During a printhead cleaning procedure, the ink levels were decreasing, yet no ink was successfully flowing through the printhead. Upon further investigation, the service station was found to be clogged with ink and debris, with no ink passing through the waste pipe. The engineer decided to dismantle the printer to identify the root cause of the issue. It was discovered that there was an ink leak inside the printer, likely caused by the pump becoming obstructed with dried ink, thus preventing the ink from flowing properly through the printhead and out into the waste box.
How we fixed the problem
The Epson F2000 T-Shirt printer was finally restored to full functionality after our engineer replaced the tubes, service station, and thoroughly cleaned the internal pipes of the printer. One of the primary issues with these printers is that they require daily cleaning with a wash tub filled with cleaning fluid, which is absolutely essential after each daily use. Failure to perform this critical maintenance can result in blockages within the pumps and waste pipes, leading to ink blockages and damage to the printer. Fortunately, our team was able to repair the printer before any ink leakage occurred outside of the machine.
